At Rawlins County Dental Clinic (RCDC), we believe that everyone deserves access to affordable, quality dental care, no matter where they live or what they earn. Our commitment goes beyond the walls of our clinic—we’re reaching communities across 12 counties in Northwest Kansas through our mobile dental unit and dedicated outreach team.

The Challenge

Imagine a region so vast it covers the combined land area of Maryland and Delaware, yet with a sparse population. This is the reality in our service area, which is classified not only as rural but as frontier territory. Many residents, especially children, face barriers to accessing basic oral healthcare. In fact, dental care is one of the most significant unmet needs here, particularly for those covered by Medicaid.

Our Solution: The Mobile Dental Unit

With the generous support of our community and donors like you, we’ve transformed an RV into a state-of-the-art mobile dental clinic equipped with two operatories and a dental lab. This allows our outreach team to deliver safe, comprehensive care directly to schools and community centers.

Here’s what makes our mobile unit special:

Real-Time Care: The mobile unit features cloud-based software, allowing our team to manage patient records, insurance billing, and treatment plans right on-site. No more paperwork delays—just fast, effective care.
Convenient Access: We bring dental services directly to at-risk children and underserved communities, reducing the need for travel and ensuring patients receive the care they deserve in a comfortable, familiar environment.
Proven Impact: In 2019 alone, our outreach team performed over 6,100 oral health screenings. With the mobile unit, we’re poised to reach even more—up to 7,813 screenings and 760 preventive visits in just one grant cycle!
